Evan Foster – Underwriter

Evan’s mortgage career started back in his college days at Salem State University in Massachusetts, where he worked as an assistant to a mortgage broker. By 2009, he had stepped into a full-time loan officer role, quickly building a reputation for navigating complex financing scenarios and making sure clients understood all their options. Over the past 17 years, he’s worked across both brokerages and direct lenders in the U.S., gaining deep experience in creative financing and client relationship management.

After passing the NMLS licensing exam for all 50 states, Evan built his career helping clients reach their short, medium, and long-term real estate goals. The deals he’s most proud of are the ones other brokers couldn’t close — he thrives on finding solutions where others see roadblocks.

Outside of work, you’ll find Evan cheering on Tottenham Hotspur and his favourite Boston teams, or giving back through animal shelter and rescue volunteering. His colleagues know him as dedicated, thoughtful, and tenacious (though he’ll jokingly tell you he’s “old, grumpy, and mean”). Having beaten colon cancer in 2025, Evan brings a unique perspective and resilience to everything he does.

When asked what he enjoys most about Spire, his answer comes easily: the teamwork. The camaraderie, shared goals, and clear expectations make it the kind of place where people support each other — and clients feel the difference.
